    About me

    Who I am

My name is Valentin. I have lived in Melbourne since 2017. I am a certified education counsellor — QEAC #15197 (Qualified Education Agent Counsellor). The number is public and can be verified in the register.

    Why Melbourne

Milder weather than Brisbane and cheaper to live in than Sydney. There is plenty of work, and not only seasonal. It is also objectively one of the best cities in the world: 3rd globally for liveability in the EIU index for 2026 — with perfect scores for healthcare and education — and 1st in Australia among student cities, 4th worldwide, in QS Best Student Cities 2027.

    Who you work with

We came here for my wife's studies and went through the whole path without shortcuts: masters, then a scholarship and PhD, then the graduate visa, then permanent residency. Eight years. In that time I saw not the brochure version but the working one: how a budget that does not add up gets recalculated; what to do when visa dates do not line up with course dates; why the first two weeks in a new city are harder than a whole semester.I helped friends work through admission a few times, simply because I already knew where to look. I realised I enjoyed it more than what I was doing, changed profession and earned the QEAC. Before Australia I worked in marketing, including at a Russian university — so I have seen student recruitment from the institution's side too. That is useful: you learn where a polished presentation stops being fact and starts being a promise.

    How I work

Too many agencies sell a program rather than a solution. They show a brochure without mentioning that a college diploma articulates into one specific university, not any of them; that credit transfer is an application, not an automatic entitlement. That is why every fact on this site about money, timing and requirements carries a checked date and a link to the official source. If something goes out of date before I update it, tell me and I will fix it and record the new date.
